The UK government calls its target to cut carbon emissions by 68% “ambitious”. But its plans go nowhere near far enough to protect the world’s poorest.

Inadequate housing, insecure work and a lack of food are the daily reality for billions of people in the world’s poorest countries. And many of these same countries are already facing killer floods, droughts and famines as a result of the climate crisis.

The UK has been one of the world’s biggest emitters of carbon pollution, and has become one of the world’s wealthiest countries at the expense of the planet and the poorest. Scientists and movements around the world have rung the alarm bell time and time again -- but still the UK government is refusing to do its fair share on climate

Add your name today to call for a climate plan that puts people and planet over profit.

We have less than a decade left to be certain we can avoid the critical tipping point of 1.5°C global warming and full scale climate emergency. To do its fair share of the global effort, the UK must reduce carbon pollution by a total of 200% by 2030. That means the government must set out a concrete plan to fully decarbonise the UK economy and support poorer countries with the finance and technology needed to cut their emissions.

The clock is ticking, and pushing the government to listen is not going to be easy. But there is hope: a growing movement of thousands of people, from the global South to the UK and beyond, are coming together to demand a just climate plan that works for all of us - not just those in the richest countries.

The more people that join our call for climate justice, the louder our voices will be. Please add your name today to demand the UK government commits to a truly ambitious climate plan that works for everyone.
