Stop the Super-Rich Profiting from the Cost-of-Living Crisis

The UK government must stop the super-rich from profiting while people are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.

Since 2022, the cost of food in the UK has risen by 30%, and the price of energy by 50%. These prices are driven up by the climate crisis and conflicts like the US-Israeli war with Iran – which has reduced the global supply of oil and gas – but that’s not all.

Many food and energy corporations are taking advantage of the crisis by raising prices even further for their own gain. Carrie and François Perrodo, who own oil and gas corporation Perenco, have increased their wealth by £3 billion. The Warburton family have increased their wealth by £185 million as the cost of bread has risen.

The wealth of the super-rich who make their money from food or energy has increased 3 or 4 times more, on average, than other super-rich people in the UK.

The ultra-wealthy are raking in profits while we pay the price. Tell the UK government to stop the super-rich profiting from the cost-of-living crisis by taxing extreme wealth now.
