English Premier League football clubs are being sponsored by corporations complicit in Israel’s illegal occupation, apartheid and genocide of the Palestinian people.
Google/Alphabet, which sponsors Liverpool and Arsenal, provides Israel with cloud storage and AI programmes. Israel uses AI to identify Palestinians to kill. Google is just one in a long list of complicit sponsors that provide technology, fuel and finance for Israel’s atrocities against Palestinians.
This is sportswashing. Sponsor branding on shirts and stadiums promotes these corporations to millions of fans, improving their reputations through connections with beloved clubs while distracting fans from their role in Israel’s atrocities.
We shouldn’t have to choose between the game we love and standing up for Palestinian rights.
Demand that Premier League clubs drop sponsors linked to Israel’s atrocities – and adopt strong human rights standards for future partnerships.
