Over 73,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israel in the Gaza strip since October 2023. Thousands more lay dead under the rubble.
Since the so-called ‘ceasefire’ began, Israel has killed another 950 Palestinians. Israel has expanded its illegal occupations and launched new attacks in neighbouring countries – killing thousands, destroying villages, and forcing tens of thousands to flee.
Israel won’t stop willingly – the UK must impose much stronger sanctions now to force Israel to end its war crimes.
Israel has used banned weapons like cluster munitions that kill indiscriminately and white phosphorus over civilian areas – war crimes under international law.
Israeli settlers are exploiting the chaos to kill Palestinians, force families from their homes, and steal Palestinian land. These settler terrorists are being encouraged and armed by senior Israeli politicians in violent acts of state-sponsored ethnic cleansing.
The UK must do more to stop Israel’s genocide, ethnic cleansing, and apartheid as it is legally obliged to do under UK and international law. We demand the UK imposes much stronger sanctions on Israel now.
Sanctions helped to end apartheid in South Africa by targeting a wide range of individuals, industries, and state institutions. This made clear that human rights abuses would not be tolerated. South Africa became isolated on the international stage and had no choice but to reverse its oppressive policies.
Yet the UK government hesitates to apply the same pressures on Israel to end its war crimes in Palestine, Lebanon, and across the region.
The UK government must move beyond symbolic gestures to stop the killing today.
